Darhata Sawabi was awarded the "Gawad sa manlilikha ng Bayan" in the year 2004 for her extraordinary Pis Siyabit work and her dedication to preserving the artform.
This is a virtual museum about her life and her life's work.
Gamaba Award
The Gawad sa Manlilikha ng Bayan, also known as National Living Treasures, was established in April 1992 through Republic Act No. 7355. It was created to recognize and honor the Philippines finest traditional artists and preserve their skills by passing them on to others; it fosters national pride and appreciation for the cultural heritage works by these artists
