Pis Siyabit
Pis meaning geometric pattern and Syabit meaning hook and technique.
The pis syabit symbolizes cultural identity and status, which are rooted in their own cultural heritage. It is traditionally worn as head covering by Tausug men but is also adorned as native attire for the Tausug people. Iit is also worn on religious or ceremonial occasions like rituals or weddings. This traditional cloth can also be worn as accessories such as bags or pouches. It is often sold by its weavers to promote and preserve Tausug weaving traditions while also to gain income.

The pis syabit is first made by dyeing cotton or silk threads with vibrant colors. Then, to create the tapestry's foundation, black and red threads are strung across a banana and bamboo frame. After that, traditional geometric and symmetrical patterns are carefully woven into the fabric. The weaving process can take roughly three months to complete, but the final product results in a hand-woven square with intricate designs measuring 39 by 40 inches.
